Southampton: Autumn is here, and with the cooler temperatures comes the time when wood is prepared for winter. Many do-it-yourselfers are now reaching for their chainsaws to cut firewood - but this can quickly become expensive. Conventional chainsaws use a lot of energy and are often maintenance-intensive. In times of rising energy prices, the costs quickly add up, and it can cost several hundred euros a year to prepare wood for winter. But a clever inventor from Freudenstadt wanted to change that.
Deither Mark, an experienced mechanical engineer who worked for many years at one of the leading chainsaw manufacturers, knows the challenges of logging very well. His years of experience inspired him to find a solution that is both energy efficient and user-friendly.
His invention could revolutionize the chainsaw world: a device that uses 60% less energy, is much easier to use and requires little maintenance - perfect for the cold months when wood is urgently needed for heating and fireplaces.
"When I presented my idea to the management, I quickly realized that they were more interested in their old, expensive models. Instead of supporting my innovation, they threatened to fire me if I brought my product to market," says Mertens.
But the Southampton native was not deterred. Instead, he went his own way: He patented his invention, found investors and began to develop his revolutionary product - the Superchain, a 3-in-1 chainsaw sharpener that changes everything.
9 months later, he proudly presents the SuperChain – the ideal tool for woodworking in autumn and winter, which sets new standards in efficiency and economy.
